The doctors at Eyecare Associates are excited to announce our decision to begin a comprehensive eye screening program for all patients.
Over the past 10 years, our practice has offered an optional Optos Retinal Screening for patients of all ages. Due to the overwhelming success in early identification and treatment of many serious eye conditions, we will now expand the screening process in a more universal and comprehensive way.
This will include:
- Annual Optos Retinal Screening done on all patients age 6 and older
- Corneal screening of all patients for keratoconus with advanced corneal topography
- During the ages of most concern, ages 12-30
- Screening all patients with identified risk factors with OCT technology
- Glaucoma
- Macular degeneration
We will continue to have reduced rates for the Retinal Screenings at $29 for adults 19 and over, and $19 for children ages 6-18. Keratoconus screenings for children and young adults will be done periodically to adequately monitor for changes. This will be included at no additional charge. I-Wellness OCT macular and glaucoma screening will be an additional $30 and will be done when risk factors for these diseases are identified and full OCT scanning is not medically needed or covered through standard medical insurance.
We have continually invested in the most advanced technology available to make this screening process possible. Recent improvements in treatment medication and procedures have made early identification of these life altering conditions necessary. With early diagnosis many of the vision stealing effects of these diseases can be avoided.
